UAMS Headstart Project 2015
For the 10th year, AR SOPHE members participated in the “Stuff the Stockings” Head Start Holiday Project. Thanks to the generous donations made by the organization, SOPHE members and families, and members of Sigma Kappa sorority from UCA, each child received individual gifts to open and a huge bag filled to the brim with goodies. The kids and their teachers were so excited and appreciative. AR SOPHE members not only got to spend time playing with the kids as they opened their gifts but also got to enjoy a delicious snack with the kids.
Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs that serve children from birth to age 5, pregnant women, and their families. They are child-focused programs and have the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in low-income families.
